MCAST MARATHON @ RAZZETT TAL HBIEBERIJA

The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology signed a partnership agreement with Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija and also launched the Annual MCAST Marathon. MCAST and Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija agreed to co-operate for the benefit of both institutions. The objectives of this collaboration/partnership shall be to provide a structured and formal environment that will provide MCAST students with the opportunity to contribute to a charitable institution. The involvement by students will be used as evidence and will be credited for achievement purposes in order to obtain the MCAST Award in Enterprise, Leadership and Social Awareness. Both organisations will engage in joint projects related to the delivery of vocational educational training programmes/services that will be delivered at MCAST or Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija.
Jewls Verse played an acoustic set on the Sunday night with Alistar on Lead Guitar and Dru on Percussions, then on Monday went down again and got interviewed and joining Hair, Singing Acapella and also played a couple of tracks from his album AMIEVERGONNASEEYOURFACEAGAIN. Other entertainers included THE YOUNG TALENT TEAM, Joe Demicoli, DJ BANANA, Freddie Portelli, Ira Losco, and the list goes on and on.
Funds collected will be donated to ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija. Ir- Razzett tal-Hbiberija has been providing recreational and therapeutic services to children and adults with a disability for over 16 years, always free of charge. The programmes are currently being upgraded to include more professional staff and volunteers, boosting the mental, physical and social value of the programmes. Ir- Razzett tal-Hbiberija helps over 1000 disabled individuals, as well as a number of organisations who work in the field of disability and healthcare. The funds raised will be used to sustain the valuable daily programmes at Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija. MCAST appeals to the general public to support this Marathon as apart from helping students gain an invaluable experience, they would also be assisting a worthwhile cause.
