Jewls Verse Mosaic Magazine Interview

Sept 2005

Ozzy Lino was born in Malta but raised in Australia. At a later time he had won himself a trip to Malta when he entered a singing competition. He then started developing himself with his music and worked his way through the hearts of Maltese fans. Jewls writes and produces his own songs and plays all the latest hits in various pubs each night. CD albums are available to purchase from all leading music stores.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?

Put on a dark pair of sun glasses, find the first reachable piece of clothing and take little Jessie to school.

What was the last meal you cooked for yourself and when was it?

I can’t remember the last time I cooked for myself as since I’ve been dieting, Sinead has been handling the cooking.

If you were to grab a snack in the middle of the day, what would it be ?

A green apple.

When was the last time you cried and why ?

Recently actually, it was only a short while ago, for a friend of mine, a regular at my shows. He had requested the last song of the night, left the pub, and was shortly after killed in a car accident.

When was the last you got drunk ?

No comment. [Jewls hides his face in shame]

Which celebrity do you most fancy ?

Demi Moore. The less make up she has the better she looks.

What’s the weirdest fan experience you’ve ever had ?

One Saturday night a group of teenage fans where sitting right at the front of the stage when suddenly, one of them noticed that my zipper was down. Of course I did not complain as I thought they were giggling with enthusiasm, only to realise half an hour later !! Ouch !!

Where do you get your hair done and do you enjoy it?

I have it done at Jigami International in Mellieha and yes I do actually enjoy it. I find it very therapeutic. I get pampered by all the female hairdressers, drink nice, strong espressos and end up leaving the salon very relaxed.

What is your hidden talent ?

I’ve always been into art. Whenever I go abroad and have absolutely nothing to do, you will always find me with a paintbrush in my hand.

What is the best thing about being famous ?

It is especially nice as more people tend to listen to you, so when you need to pass on an important message to the public, it is more possible to get through to them. I do this my own music which I write and produce myself.
