The festival is being organised by the Young Talent Team and the money made from ticket sales, the albums of the performers and what is sold from the stands set up on the day will be given to a good cause—the church residential homes and the Park of Friendship that is attended by people with a disability.
The Maltese All Star Artistes taking part in the Festival are: Olivia Lewis, Young Talent Team, Debbie Scerri, OzzyLino, Nadine Axisa, Vittorio Gauci, Hooligan, Priscilla Psaila, Glenn Vella, Aldo Busuttil, Maronia, L-Avukat Gawdenz Bilocca, Dj Banana, Joe Demicoli, William 'Elvis', Sophie, Rebecca Debattista, and The Andrew Zammit Band Live, First class Dance numbers by The Yada Dance Company and Nova Productions, Gymstars musical gymnastics display and Pippo and Jo Jo The Clowns. The money made from the sales of entrance tickets, music albums, music videos, ring tones, donation lines and what is sold from the souvenir stands on the night will be given to 2 charities: 'Ir razzett tal hbiberija', where over 1000 persons with a disability attend daily and children residential homes run by the church in Malta accomodating 300 children.
Tourism and Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech, who announced the festival yesterday, said that philanthropic activities such as this demonstrate the Maltese spirit for helping those in need.
The Young Talent Team's initiative shows that while others are on holiday there are people thinking about the needs of others, he said. He urged the public to buy tickets for the event as well as the DVD of Heart of Gold, in aid of those less fortunate.
